Themes and goals

Staff and student mobility for educational purposes has been part (decentralized) of the Erasmus programme since 2000, while training opportunities began to be funded from 2007. As a consequence of the continued growth of staff and student mobility, the need for strategic approach to the quality of mobility has gained more relevance and ongoing international discussions demonstrate the need for structured and strategic approaches to this topic. Reflection on qualitative aspects and their long-term impact on the lives of individuals and institutions intersects with an emerging need to develop a new paradigm that focuses on a sustained assessment of the instruments and indicators that are used by HEIs in assessing mobility activities. of students and staff. It is necessary to share, understand and analyze the quality of mobility factors applied by the different actors in the European educational and training context. In this context, this event aims to promote a joint reflection and the definition of cross-sectional metrics that may be the basis for conducting a pilot study on this matter.

On the other hand, Social responsibility is reflected in the impacts of policies, decisions and activities on society and the environment, exercised through ethical and transparent behaviour. Diversity, equity, equality and non-discrimination are among the aspects that democratic societies should seek to attain in order to honour their social commitments. Institutions are the first place where inequality might occur as a result of gender, disability, educational difficulties, economic disadvantage or different ethnic or migrant backgrounds. According to these observations, a goal is to understand the added value of corporate social responsibility in social inclusion in the context of HE, SE and AE institutions.

This TCA intends to contribute to the discussion on quality, the inclusion component of the new programme, to identify potential synergies between the sectors, that could lead to new cooperation schemes in favour of better quality and inclusion, to have the opportunity to think about the meaning of both subjects and inclusion associated to the CSR as a tool for the improvement of social inclusion.

Expected results

Definition of quality indicators and metrics and Corporate Social Responsibility awareness associated to inclusion.
